No brand is as closely associated with Cuba's capital as Partagás. Due to the location of the tobacco manufactory in the heart of the capital, the close ties between Havana and Partagás have grown together and are inseparable after a good 170 years. The great patron Don Jaime Partagás gave the name to the manufactory as well as to the Habanos - since 1845! Havana connoisseurs know about the proximity of the Partagás Manufactory to the Capitol, which is only a stone's throw away in the well-known Calle Industria Número 520. The impressive building documents in a very vivid way how long Cuba's and especially Havana's history has been shaped by tobacco cultivation.

In fact, they are more for men than for "boys" (chicos) - like all Partagás. But stout-hearted ladies will also enjoy this larger cigarillo format (aka "puritos") for a good ¼ hour.
Flavours
Kept in the classic style of lighter Partagás long fillers, with quite intense floral sweetness, but of course also pithy, intense resin, earth and toasty aromas, these wonderful sticks are somewhat reminiscent of the oldest Habanos brand's "Mille Fleurs". Despite above-average strength, they seem just as warm and pleasing as the colours of the very beautifully designed boxes. There is even the beginnings of a real development in the course of the smoke, with more earth and spice in the finish. A real top product!

Earth, coffee beans, dark woods, with only a strikingly small amount of pepper, make for a mixture that is as pithy as it is delicate, with an honest-to-goodness tobacco flavour as well as more elegant nuances. Amazing how so little tobacco can stimulate so many areas of the palate! Fine and good-natured to the last puff.

Aficionados with a penchant for strong, intense cigarillos were thrilled when three short-filler formats appeared in boxes in 2014 with the deadly chic black and red design of the Partagás "Series". The long thin burns for about 15 minutes.
Flavours
While the "Serie" long fillers are quite different in character, the cigarillos in the series basically offer an even stronger and more flavour-intensive alternative to the classic cigarillo line. The flavour is distinctly earthy and spicy, with a pleasantly warming peppery tickle and mouth-filling, earthy tobacco aroma. At the same time, softer tones also provide balance, such as the resin scent typical of the brand and great coffee roast notes. A racy and exciting smoking pleasure!

Hardly known in this country, the ristretto enjoys great popularity in Southern Europe. Like this super-strong mini-espresso, the "series" dwarfs seem - hello awake! The full load of Cuba in just under 10 minutes.

Again, it would be, well, a lie to say that there is a big difference in flavour compared to the "Club" - but the small ones do have their own flavour, if only because of their format. You would never expect such an intensity of spice, roasted aroma and resinous-peaty depth of flavour from such small sticks, even connoisseurs of the brand were blown away at the market launch. Better not smoke a mild, light long filler too soon after enjoying a Mini - you'll still only taste the tiny Partagás!

What to know
Why the chicos in the "series" are called Puritos is known only to those responsible - the format that followed the other two in 2016 is exactly the same. Smoking time approx. 15 - 20 (!) minutes - amazingly productive!

Freely, the flagship of the "black" cigarillo range is similar to the smaller ones in terms of flavour; however, it is clearly the sweetest and most complex, also just about the lightest of the three. Floral and caramel aromas cushion the powerful "incense note" wonderfully and harmonise splendidly with the full earth, nutmeg and coffee/roast tones of the ingenious short filler blend. For friends of strong little smokes, one of the best of all - completely uncomplicated, at the same time powerful and perfectly balanced.
