Punch is one of the oldest Habanos brands. Don Manuel Lopez of Juan Valle & Co. founded this brand in the mid-19th century with an eye on the profitable British market, where the satirical magazine of the same name, which had been published since 1841, was very much in vogue. A contented Mr. Punch, the clown who represented the magazine, can still be seen with a cigar in his hand on every box of the brand. He is surrounded by illustrations showing cigar making in the 19th century. The manufacturing method has survived a century and a half virtually unchanged. In 1931, Punch moved to the La Corona manufactory, where the Hoyo de Monterrey brand cigars were also made. To this day, both brands are still made at the La Corona manufactory. Punch's distinctive cigars of medium-bodied flavor, made from a blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco growing zone, are available in a wide variety of formats. All formats are totalmente a mano, tripa larga - completely handmade longfillers.
