This offspring of the „Epicure“-series, launched in 2012 in the original „Mágicos“ format (which is otherwise almost only available in the noble „Maduro 5“-series by Cohiba), is exclusively offered in LCDH establishments. This outstanding cigar is therefore only available from us in the entire Nuremberg region. Thanks to perfect rolling with 60 – 75 minutes smoking time very productive!
Flavours
The „EdL“ really offers everything that makes up a true Hoyo, in particular density and complexity. Verführeric fermentation sü&Apron;e, super-creamy latte mouthfeel, nutty-mild Röstaromen, a hint of hay scent… certainly one of the best blends of the brand! Despite the short length, the flavour does develop further, becoming darker and more powerful after the halfway point, with a soft earthiness, a mocha touch and a touch more spice. At the same time, however, the sweetness becomes rather more intense – unusual! A little stronger than most HdMs, it is smoothly medium-bodied.

When the powerful, iconic “Coronas Extra” were discontinued in 2012, many Bol’var fans were saddened – and skeptical when the following year this powerful, LCDH-exclusive “Fat Lady” was presented, whose large ring size; more in line with contemporary trends. Since then, the powerful, very persuasive “Liberator” - an honorific nickname Simón Bolívars – but has blossomed into a coveted figurehead of the brand.
Aroma
The sumptuous Sublime is the most opulent and creamy bolívar. The taste is similar to the „BBF” more than the thinner formats; Similar to these, it has an exciting and intense interplay of fruity, sweet, spicy and umami notes. The typical ethereal woodiness can also be felt, while its sweetness sometimes has something of caramel or roasted almonds. With all the power, a gorgeous, aromatically playful cigar that tastes great even when young. The firmness of the curl differs a little -; so does the smoking time of approx. 85 to 110 minutes.
Worth knowing
When the good Simón first smiled from a cigar of this name in 2009, the golden foil wrapped a slender 42 Lonsdale. Anno 2023, the powerful beauty has increased to RM 48 - sensual and elegant all the more so, offering up to 1 ½ hours of high pleasure.
Aroma
As expected, the long Hermoso is not as punchy as the "first edition" - yet it embodies the brand's resinous-leathery-intense tradition somewhat more offensively than the relatively "harmless" blend of the regular formats these days. Distinguished tannins and noble roasted substances bring to mind oak, expensive black tea and the finest leather, as well as walnut and mocha; on the other hand, the unmistakable "lemony" touch of acidity that makes a Bolívar so characteristic can be tasted again and again, wonderfully cushioned with a dash of seductive honey sweetness. Nuts and spices dominate the exciting finish. Fantastic!

Flavors
This beautiful format proves with particular emphasis that the small Habanos brand ERdM - similar to Cuaba or Vegas Robaina, among others - is quite wrongly overshadowed by the well-known brands. Such a dazzling variety of perfectly harmonizing aromas are otherwise almost only offered by Cohiba and Trinidad - seductive floral sweetness, nutty-creamy roasted aromas, a hint of cocoa on the palate, subtle woody tannins, sometimes also a hint of animating fresh notes of exquisite herbs unite on the palate to create a ravishing firework of flavours of considerable intensity - and this despite the rather moderate strength, which makes the smoke a feast even for beginners!

Every now and then, the Cubans bring out special edition cigars in a ceramic pot („Jar“), which is particularly suitable for long-term storage. This sought-after HU special format between Mareva and Corona (with approx. 45 – 60 minutes smoking time) first appeared in 2009; since then, small editions have been added from time to time. Get your hands on it when it's available!
Flavours
Noellas are among the finest Upmanns for connoisseurs. The cedar and oak notes typical of the brand are somewhat reminiscent of the much larger „Sir Winston“ otherwise, the medium-strong Habano presents itself as relatively untypical for HU – spicy Upmanns; Spicy, slightly oriental spicy notes are just as present as a delicate fruity undertone that is vaguely reminiscent of dark berries. At the same time, the aromas come across as beautifully soft, despite all their intensity, and the smoke is wonderfully creamy. A perfectly balanced blend between spicy and sweet facets!

Introduced in 2011, this LCDH-exclusive „Edmundo“ (a form of the Robusto Grande) with a smoking time of approx. 65 – 85 minutes quickly caused a sensation among customers and experts. Awarded 94 points in the Cigar Journal, it delights with the special complexity of its aromas. A must!
Flavours
A whole novel could be written here, because this cigar is the much-vaunted „peacock wheel“ of flavours in full glory. The aroma is incredibly full-bodied and multifaceted. Without ever straying far from the basic HU character, it offers, in addition to the classic wood, honey and nuts, a very special creaminess that is somewhat reminiscent of the unfortunately out-of-print „Robusto Anejado“. But above all, it unfolds an opulent, complex flavour with berry, but also brittle and marzipan notes, cushioned by tart, pleasantly astringent aromas (leather, black bread). Actually, the usual food comparisons reach their limits here – just try it for yourself!
Worth knowing
This impressive Habano has the ring gauge of a Double Corona and about the length of a Churchill. The large format guarantees 100 – 120 minutes of smoking time at a fair price. It was introduced in 2018 as an LCDH-exclusive product and is only available here in the region. Its great blend makes it, in the eyes of more than a few connoisseurs, the best Hoyo currently available!
Flavours
The Paco shows emphatically that a rather mild and light (medium-bodied at the end) Habano does not have to be weak in flavour. Quite the opposite: delicate noble wood aromas, opulent flowers and fragrant, herbal tones open up a smoke that at the beginning particularly clearly underlines the certain affinity of HdM to Cohiba aromas. A chocolaty caramel note unfolds as well as a rather untypical brand „chocolaty“ tang and the classic Hoyo latte flavour. One of the most complex and aromatically „colourful“ cigars of the brand and one of our special recommendations!
Worth knowing
It is a pity that the beautiful medium Perfecto format „Tacos“ – actually named after the dish – is probably so rare. HdM remedied this in 2017 as part of the expansion of an LCDH-exclusive Habanos range. As appetising as these cigars look – please do not smoke them! Smoking time: approx. 60 – 80 minutes.
Flavours
On the one hand, a very typical, impeccably balanced Hoyo with the nutty, creamy aroma reminiscent of latte that the brand's many fans love so much. On the other hand, it also has fine woody aromas reminiscent of HU and fragrant floral aromas that make it stand out from the brand's portfolio. The beauty of Perfectos is that they have both lovely opulence and – in the rejuvenated last third – a high concentration of aromas. The „Elegantes“ with their richer, spicier final part are no exception. This exciting smoke lives up to its name!

The Habanos brand Juán López, which has existed for 145 years, has always been somewhat overshadowed by similar brands such as Partagás or Ramón Allones. Aroma
Whoever knows the brand has never quite understood that these strong cigars are only classified as „medium – strong“. Unlike the 2 regular formats, however, this Toro Largo is more like it. The wonderfully down-to-earth, undisguised earthy tobacco aromas that are so characteristic of JL are of course also intensely present on the palate here, but they are embedded in a somewhat softer, creamier flavour. The typical pithy coffee bean and spice notes are supported by an almost vanilla-like sweetness, and again and again one is reminded of cappuccino. The final third, on the other hand, is quite classically peaty, slightly leathery and discreetly caramel-like.

Aroma
It's a pity that this brand has fallen so far behind, because already the first puffs show its genius. The perfectly balanced, immensely elegant cigar marries with a light hand opulent floral scent and lovely honey sweetness with the delicate tickle of oriental spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon, a fruity-ethereal touch with the finely roasted aroma of freshly ground coffee beans. In the exciting course of the smoke, carried by a veritable flood of constantly alternating details, a malty, tart-sweet cocoa tone increasingly asserts itself as the basic framework, and the overall medium-bodied magnificent cigar becomes somewhat stronger.

Angeblich pflegten die Roller von Partagás ihr Tagesdeputat zum Eigenverzehr einst an Touristen zu verkaufen – zur Unfreude der Inhaber, die die frischen, noch biegsamen Zigarren zu Dreierbündeln schlingen ließen. Die kuriosen „Schlangen“ verkauften sich aber erst recht – ein Kultformat war geboren. Bis 2005 maschinengefertigt, seit 2007 eine Premiumzigarre – in der Region nur hier erhältlich! Rauchdauer: stolze 50 – 65 Minuten!
Aromen
Eine Lieblingszigarre nicht weniger Kenner! Trotz der urigen Form zieht sie stets ausgezeichnet. Vor allem aber begeistert sie mit herrlichen, kernigen Aromen von starkem Kaffee, frischer Brotkruste, feinen Gewürzen und ein wenig Lakritze. Der typische Partagás-Weihrauchduft zieht sich durch den Hintergrund, im Mittelpunkt stehen röstig-erdig-würzige Nuancen. Aber auch eine süße Karamellnote verwöhnt den Gaumen. Der Rauch ist verblüffend weich, über den gutmütigen Abbrand kann man nur staunen. Achtung, die Culebras beginnen schon kräftig und legen nach der Hälfte nochmal mächtig zu – eine der stärksten Habanos auf dem Markt! Besondere Empfehlung!

Das namengebende Format dieser imposanten Zigarre wird auch „Perfecto Doble“ genannt. Bei der Wuchtbrumme sollte man sich auf Rauchzeiten von über 2 Stunden einstellen. Sie wurde 2008 als LCDH-Exklusivformat lanciert und ist im Raum Nürnberg nur bei uns im Sortiment!
Aromen
Wie von einer Perfecto dieser Größe zu erwarten, bieten diese gesuchten Zigarren ein Maximum an Komplexität und Abwechslung im Rauchverlauf. Im Abschnitt mit dem größten Ringmaß schlägt sie nach intensiv würzig-holzigem Auftakt das viel beschworene „Pfauenrad“ der Aromen mit floraler, auch karamelliger Süße, Zimt- und Muskatnoten, Weihrauchduft und allgemein einer für Partagás-Verhältnisse eher lieblichen, duftig-verspielten Aromatik, nicht unähnlich der „E 2“. Süße und Vielschichtigkeit bleiben bis zum Ablegen erhalten; im letzten Drittel stehen allerdings eher kernig-würzige Facetten von Erde, Kaffee und Harz im Vordergrund. Ein Hochgenuss!

Die geschmacklich „bunteste“ und eleganteste Allones! Die klassischen Marken-Aromen – Nüsse, Röstgeschmack, Erde, ein wenig Kakao – werden hier durch feine, etwas „helltönigere“ Gewürzfacetten und herrliche Honigsüße bereichert. Der Smoke mutet vielleicht minimal leichter als die anderen Formate an, ist aber ebenso vollmundig und geschmacksintensiv. Der Rauchverlauf gestaltet sich besonders spannend; immer wieder kommt ätherischer Zedernduft durch, und in manchen Zügen meint man fast, eine (deutlich stärkere) San Cristóbal zu rauchen. Das große Zedernblatt prägt – welch Wunder! – die Aromenentfaltung im gesamten Rauchverlauf erheblich. Aromen
Die feine Würze, außerordentliche Cremigkeit und schmeichelhafte Süße, die Fans der Marke so lieben, wird hier mittels der allerbesten verfügbaren Tabake auf die Spitze des Genusses getrieben. Mit Vanille- und Honigsüße, Zimtwürze und sagenhafter Cremigkeit beginnt die Reise; im Mittelteil treten Heuduft, leichter Kakaogeschmack am Gaumen sowie die süßen und toastigen Töne gerösteter Nüsse hinzu. Die Honignote geht hier mehr in Richtung Karamell. All dies wird permanent von abwechslungsreichen, verspielten holzigen Tönen untermalt, die gegen Ende einen sanft erdigen Aspekt gewinnen. To celebrate (somewhat belatedly) both the 500th anniversary of the founding of the city of Habana and the 20th anniversary of the brand, SCdlH is launching this incredibly elaborate collector's humidor, stocked with no less than 100 large-format cigars made from the very finest tobaccos available (unfortunately, for legal reasons, sales in this country have to be made separately). Each of the only 500 cigars in the world is handmade by skilled craftsmen in Cuba from the finest local woods. Elaborate carvings depict historical scenes and symbols of La Habana. Even a high-quality hygrometer is already integrated into this jewel. Not only an extremely luxurious humidor full of excellent Habanos, but also a veritable investment!
Aroma
The San Cristóbal brand is characterised by moderate strength with enormous aromatic complexity and balance. Sweet and creamy aromas of light nuts combine with the typical Cuban cedar note and mild roasted aromas, which later go more in the direction of cocoa. In addition, lovely floral tones and clear hay scent appear next to spicy components that remind not a few fans of chai latte. From a 17 cm cigar with RM 57, an extremely creamy smoke consistency is to be expected as well as a maximum of development and complexity.
