The Habanos brand Juán López, which has existed for 145 years, has always been somewhat overshadowed by similar brands such as Partagás or Ramón Allones. Aroma
Whoever knows the brand has never quite understood that these strong cigars are only classified as „medium – strong“. Unlike the 2 regular formats, however, this Toro Largo is more like it. The wonderfully down-to-earth, undisguised earthy tobacco aromas that are so characteristic of JL are of course also intensely present on the palate here, but they are embedded in a somewhat softer, creamier flavour. The typical pithy coffee bean and spice notes are supported by an almost vanilla-like sweetness, and again and again one is reminded of cappuccino. The final third, on the other hand, is quite classically peaty, slightly leathery and discreetly caramel-like.

Der spanische Geschäftsmann Juan López Díaz gründete die nach ihm benannte Marke in den 1870er Jahren. Ihr vollständiger Name lautet: La Flor de Juan López. Bis zu den 1950er Jahren gehörte sie den Bestsellern unter den Habanos. Obwohl heute weltweit weniger bekannt, hatte Juan López immer eine treue Anhängerschaft unter den Habanos-Liebhabern, insbesondere die Formate Selección No.1 und die Selección No.2. Vor einigen Jahren bot 5THAvenue mit den Juan López Distinguidos ein inzwischen legendäres Format als "Edición Regional" an. Die beiden Formate bieten einen mittelkräftigen bis starken Geschmack, basierend auf einer reichhaltigen Tabakmischung aus Einlage- und Umblättern der Tabakanbauzone Vuelta Abajo. Alle Formate sind totalmente a mano, tripa larga – vollständig von Hand gefertigte Longfiller.
